Project: Immanuel Afrika

Peter Nduati of Immanuel Afrika, Nairobi, KENYA

Formally Emmanuel Kidogo Rescue Centre

There are 60 000 street children in Nairobi, and they are among the world’s most vulnerable children. On the streets they are exposed to all types of abuse, starvation, violence, HIV contraction, drug addiction and criminal activity. This is an environment that condones gender-based-violence and disrespects the most basic of human rights.

Immanuel Afrika Rescue Centre removes these boys from this volatile situation and provides them with a safe environment and a HOPE for the future.

Currently the centre caters for 35 former street boys and orphans. It offers education, vocational training, and an outreach services to those left in the streets where we feed them and provide medical care. Many are reunited with their families where possible after an extensive rehabilitation process.

Immanuel Afrika Rescue Centre is an oasis to many otherwise hopeless children who through circumstance have had no option but to run to the streets, beg, and forget their problems through volatile drug abuse.

These boys are nurtured from rejection and abuse to becoming responsible adults and the potential future leaders of Kenya. Immanuel Afrika Rescue Centre believes every boy deserves a chance...
